Therapy for Anxiety,
Emotional Overwhelm &
Feeling Stuck
You may understand yourself pretty well and still find yourself overthinking, overwhelmed by emotions, or falling into the same patterns. Therapy can help you understand what’s keeping you stuck while building practical skills to actually change it.
Maybe you know what’s wrong. You just don’t know how to change it.
You might be someone who thinks deeply about yourself and your relationships. Maybe you already know where some of your patterns come from. You may even know what you “should” do differently.
But when anxiety takes over, emotions get intense, or you find yourself in the same situation again, insight doesn’t always feel like enough.
I work with people who want more than a place to talk. Together, we’ll make sense of what’s happening and develop concrete ways to respond differently—without making therapy feel rigid, intimidating, or overly clinical.
What I can help with
Anxiety & Overthinking
When your mind rarely shuts off, decisions become exhausting, or worry keeps you from feeling present, therapy can help you understand the patterns driving your anxiety and learn practical ways to manage them.
Trauma
Past experiences can continue to affect how you feel, think, relate to others, and respond to situations today. I use evidence-based trauma therapy to help you process what happened and reduce the ways it continues to affect your life.
Emotional Regulation & DBT
If emotions feel intense, reactions happen quickly, or relationships become difficult when you’re overwhelmed, we can work on understanding your emotional patterns and building skills to navigate them differently.
Insomnia
If you struggle to fall asleep, stay asleep, or find yourself worrying about sleep, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), an evidence-based treatment designed specifically for insomnia.
Therapy shouldn’t feel intimidating
Starting therapy can feel awkward—especially if you’ve never been before or you’ve had an experience with therapy that didn’t feel helpful.
I’m Betsy, and my style is warm, straightforward, and collaborative. I want you to feel comfortable being yourself in therapy, including being able to laugh, ask questions, disagree with me, or tell me when something isn’t working.
At the same time, I believe therapy should help you make meaningful changes outside of our sessions. My approach combines a strong therapeutic relationship with evidence-based treatment, practical skills, and honest conversations about the patterns that may be keeping you stuck.
Evidence-based therapy, tailored to you
I use evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), depending on what you’re struggling with and what you want to change.
Our work might involve understanding patterns, learning new ways to respond to difficult emotions, changing unhelpful thoughts or behaviors, processing past experiences, or practicing concrete skills between sessions.
